I had an amazing day. Suddenly, it dawned on me, that there is much more to life than working on a manuscript, trying to keep up with social networks, or watching TV.
Something wonderful has happened! I decided to start illustrating my blogs with images related to my new book. In oil. After six months of facing mostly the computer screen, I nearly forgot where my brushes were and which ones were my favorites. To prepare a few pieces of wood which will serve to paint Pieter’s and Karo’s images, I finally picked a broad brush to prime the surface with a thin coat of paint.
Now, I whisper: “Hurry up. Dry! I’m ready to paint!”
I am a new person. I didn’t realize how much I missed the scent of paint and cleaning my brushes after a successful day at the easel. I’m stepping into my artist’s shoes.
But right now, after posting this blog, you’ll find me in my garden. It’s a lovely evening and she’ll welcome her kindred spirit with open arms. You see, it is I who created her!
